1. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may receive:
- contact and business information, including name, company, email, phone, address, and project details;
- order and billing information supplied through Stripe, including products, quantities, transaction status, tax location, invoices, and customer identifiers; JSBS does not receive complete card numbers;
- license information processed through LicenseSeat, including license identifiers, entitlement, activation/device information, validation status, and associated email;
- download and security information processed through Cloudflare, such as request time, IP address, browser or device data, requested resource, and security signals;
- support messages, attachments, diagnostic information, and files you choose to send;
- website usage information made available by Google Analytics, Cloudflare, or other configured site tools, subject to their settings and your browser choices.
2. Information JSBS Core stores locally
JSBS Core stores operational records, databases, attachments, generated documents, connection profiles, and settings in locations controlled by the customer. Solo data stays in the customer’s local environment. Team data stays in the customer-designated shared Firebird database and document library. JSBS does not automatically copy the contents of those databases or documents to JSBS through the licensing process.
The current application disables general LicenseSeat telemetry but communicates information required to activate and validate a license. Internet access is required for current activation and startup validation.
3. How we use information
- process orders, taxes, payments, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and billing support;
- issue and validate licenses and enforce purchased Seats and entitlements;
- provide protected installers, updates, documentation, and customer support;
- respond to inquiries, prepare proposals, and perform contracted services;
- secure our website, checkout, licensing, delivery, and update systems and prevent fraud or abuse;
- maintain accounting, compliance, dispute, and transaction records;
- improve products and services using information that does not expose customer proprietary content unless the customer has authorized its use.
4. Service providers
We use service providers only for relevant business functions. These currently include Stripe for payments, subscriptions, tax, invoices, and customer portal; LicenseSeat for license issuance and validation; Cloudflare for the public website, protected delivery, security, form processing, and Turnstile; Zoho for form notifications and business email; Google Analytics for configured website measurement; Microsoft and the Windows platform for operating-system functions; and file providers selected for communications and support.
When you provide personal data in connection with Stripe payment services, Stripe receives that personal data and processes it under the Stripe Privacy Policy.
5. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information to service providers acting for us; to professional advisors; when required by law, subpoena, court order, or valid government request; to protect rights, safety, systems, or customers; to investigate fraud, security events, or license abuse; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of business assets subject to appropriate protection.
6. Retention
We retain information only as reasonably needed for the purposes above, including the duration of the customer relationship, license and support history, accounting and tax periods, dispute and fraud prevention, security records, legal obligations, and enforcement of agreements. Contact-form uploads are retained only as reasonably necessary to review an inquiry, support an active project, meet legal obligations, or resolve a dispute. Customer-controlled JSBS Core data remains subject to the customer’s own retention and backup decisions.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information and services involved. No system or transmission method is completely secure. Customers are responsible for their Windows environments, network controls, administrator accounts, database credentials, document-library permissions, backups, and devices.
8. Your choices and rights
You may request access to or correction or deletion of personal information we control, subject to identity verification and legal retention requirements. You may cancel a subscription through the Stripe customer portal or by contacting us. You may opt out of non-transactional marketing using the method provided in the message. Browser, cookie, and site preferences may be available through your browser or the website platform.
Privacy rights vary by location. We will honor applicable rights and non-waivable protections. We may retain transaction, license, security, and legal records where required or reasonably necessary.
9. Children and international use
Our business products and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you access our services from outside the United States, information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate, subject to applicable law.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as our services, providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised effective date and provide additional notice when required.
